Govt launches COVID-19 tracking Application 'Aarogya Setu' for Android, iOS users:
The Indian government is stepping up its efforts to make credible information about the novel coronavirus accessible to the masses with the launch of a new tracking app, Aarogya Setu.
The new app is available for both Android and iOS users and can be downloaded from the Play Store or Apple's App Store. According to the description of the app, it is aimed at "augmenting" efforts to "proactively" inform the citizens about the "best practices and relevant advisories pertaining to the containment of COVID-19.
Aarogya Setu essentially helps users in identifying whether they are at risk of being infected by the coronavirus by checking if they have knowingly or unknowingly come into contact with individuals that have been tested positive with COVID-19.

What Is Aarogya Setu App?
To make the people aware of the coronavirus and its cases in the country and to track the cases the government has launched the Aarogya Setu app. The app is available for all mobile phone users. the users can download it from the app store of their phones.
The description of the Aarogya Setu app says, “Aarogya Setu is a mobile application developed by the Government of India to connect essential health services with the people of India in our combined fight against COVID-19. The App is aimed at augmenting the initiatives of the Government of India, particularly the Department of Health, in proactively reaching out to and informing the users of the app regarding risks, best practices and relevant advisories pertaining to the containment of COVID-19”.
With the help of this app, the users will get to know whether they are at the risk of being infected with the Coronavirus or not. This app will help the people to track if they have visited any sensitive area that came in contact for any COVID-19 positive individual. The app will also help to put control of the spread of fake news related to coronavirus.
How Aargoya Setu App Work
The app works based on the database of the corona virus-infected people. The database is maintained and managed by the government of India so all the information will be officially proved. The app was developed by the National Informatics Center that comes under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
To use this app you will have to download it on your phone and before using the app you will have to register your mobile number first. The app is available in 11 different Indian languages. You can get the information in languages like Hindi, English and other local languages. The app will need to access the GPS of your phone to identify your present location. It will also need to access the Bluetooth of your phone to check if you have met any individual recently who is positive with the coronavirus. The app will also ask the credentials from the user but it is optional to fill in the app through your phone number is a must to use to the app.
To make the data available on the app secure the government claims that the data stored in the app is encrypted hence cannot be hacked. For security reasons, the app does not have any third-party access. To make you aware that the location you are visiting is safe or not the app uses GPS and tells you about the status of your present location. When you install this app on the android based mobile phones you also get the notification about the latest tweets from the Ministry Of Health.
When the data recovery software 'Do It Yourself' has been found online in this drive, then a large amount of data has been recuperated. In a similar hard drive, the automated showroom's old business complexes were found in which every month's cell, sales record, price list and customer information including name, address and contact number were included.
